This modification is still in the planning stage and I will update as each stage is completed.
This will be a large mod which will alter the administrator menus to add the new advanced discount system. This discount system will allow category based discounts as well as multiple product discounts e.g. Buy 1 get 1 1/2 price or buy 2 get 1 free etc.
I also plan to alter the childlist mod to allow the qualifying products to be purchased at the same time with no setup from the store owner.
Functionality
Works in conjuction with the standard discount system.
Will allow multiple product discounts e.g. Buy 2 get 1 free, buy 1 get this product 1/2 Price etc.
Can be category or product based.
Discounts are not defined in the product. The advanced discount defines which products/categories are affected.
Date ranged
Shopper group defined.
Will work with the Child List mod to enable extra products to be added to the cart at the same time of purchase.
This will mean, for instance that you could for the month of June apply
a 10% discount to all products in category 1 for shopper group 2 or for
the month of May if you buy 2 products from category 2 you will get a
third free.
As it works in conjunction with the standard discount system you can
define if the advanced discounts overide or add to the discount value,
obviously buy multiple get discount it will not matter.
The cart will display individually discounted products as per normal.
Multiple product discounts will display the saving made by buying
multiple products. e.g. You have 3 products @ $10, 1 product 50%
discount saving $5. Cart total $25.
I will also be making alterations to the childlist mod to allow extra
product id's to be included with a product. This will allow any product
to become a holder for multiple products. Possible uses :- A product
requires batteries, add the product id for the required products to the
product id and the page will display the product and the batteries,
this should help generate sales of ancilliary goods. With the advanced
discount system it should be possible to automatically add other
products that relate to a multiple product discount.
Administrator Interface
The begginngs of the back-end interface is well under way.
Discount Information
The first page allows the general description of the discount aw well as start and end date to be entered.
Product Selection
The second and fourth pages allows the input of
categories and products. This is a dynamically generated list.
