Firstly, I'm glad I stumbled across this site, certainly offers a new dimension to virtuemart, thanks for the development and the pointers.

I installed the lightbox today and introduced tabs, encountered a few errors a long the way and these on the whole were due to template conflicts. All sorted now except:

Now I've got three little questions

I've searched the forums and have yet to see another thread like this.

1) How / where do you add a small descriptive text insert in the slimbox that tells users you can hover and select next / back images, to make it easier for users to scroll through the multiple images.

2)Whenever I select the second product image the first product image is shown in the light box, then I have to click on next button to show the image that I wanted to see. Is it slimboxes nature to pick up the first image no matter which one you select ?

3) The behaviour of the slimbox is a little odd. On my first image it loads the image in what appears to be an L-shape background. Now it may be because on this test shop I have only added thumbnails, so a larger picture is not present.

Both 2/3 above are evident in IE and FF.

Now for some other information. I had to change the mootools called in the mod to that used in my template, otherewise there were other funnies happening on the site. But it did not matter which mootools I called as the behaviour was the same for both 2/3 above regardless.

Hope this all makes sense.

Ok update.

I managed to find out the answer to question 2 whilst searching for something completely unrelated (would never have thought to use those search terms).

Just 1 and 3 remaining.

Number 2, the latest mod fixes that.

Number 3, you have configured your flypage incorrectly. This has been answered so many times that is getting tiresome. Read the instructions on the front page, all my mods have a read more section where it tells you how to install and configure. It even tells you on the fronpage that the flypage needs editing. The link must not encompass the img.

Number 1, if you wish this add a module to your site that tells you how to do it.

As to mootools, this mod needs the latest version of mootools, even though it says it is calling an earlier version it is fact 1.11!

In fact my mod uses the correct method of calling in scripts on the fly and unfortunately some templates include cut down versions of mootools and overwrite the one that I load. Hence, when that happens, the lightbox doesn't work.

Ok this is totally my F**K up. I had overwritten my flypage with a tabbed one that you have on the forums. Obviously this refers to the old code !

So in answer:

1) is no longer needed as the right images is selected at first choice.

2 & 3) I had downloaded the 1.011 improved package. I had not downloaded the updated .js files as the description sort of like infers its only needed if there are issues in IE.

Anyway I downloaded the latest js and unpacked that, as well as the previous fly page this has now sorted my problems...

With reference to your mootools, this wasn't a dig. I've just learnt that where multiple mods call mootools you need to reference the same mootools script. So I'm now referencing the mootools1.11 release. Seems to work fine.

So all in all a case of eyes wide shut me thinks !!!

The last part about mootools i wish more people would understand. Some templates use a cut down version of mootools and call it 2 or 3 times! This means an increased page load time as well as causing other problems. If they loaded the full version and kept up to date with updates many problems would go away!

As to the updated js files it does refer to IE7 but as all sites should be cross browser compatible I just assumed everyone would update. My fault, I shall have to rewrite the description.

I didn't take anything as a dig, at least you are trying to solve your own problems and only asking for help when you really get lost. For that I commend you, I wish there were more out there like you.

Just a thought that may overcome a lot of the 'please update your js' type of forum posts.

Unless there are any significant differences in the js files in the 'update' package and the 'improved' package would it be easier to just package the whole lot together and do away with the update package ?

Or maybe on the 'improved' package page also include - you also need these files type of statement and a download.

I think it may help with the confusion (from a user perspective).

Just a thought, and you can tell me to go forth and..... if need be
