Pathway problem with menu based on category

I have looked all over the place for this (or maybe I missed something?)...
I created a series of menu items using the "menu Item Type - Virtuemart" and fill in the Parameters - Component > Category ID with the corresponding Category ID from the Virtuemart Category list.
It seems like the pathway always take the Menu Item name then follow it with the proper path. This cause what seems to be double iteration.
For example: If I created a menu link to a category called "Hand Tools", the pathway will show: Home >> Hand Tools >> Hand Tools. If it's a menu link to subcategory called "Metal Tools", it will look like this: Home >> Metal Tools >> Hand Tools >> Metal Tools
I notice that the pathway take the name of the menu item... I think this is the cause of the problem in this situation. I hope I didn't confuse anybody with the description...
Please anybody help me to figure out this issue... thanks in advance.
