Address is empty for digital only purchases 4 Years ago

Thanks for the great changes!

When I hit the shipping page on a digital-download only order, I see:

Code: :


 Please review the provided data and confirm the order!

Shipping Address:  , ,

Shipping Rate:

If there's a single shipped product in the order, I see a shipping address page, shipper selection page, and the Shipping Address is populated.

I'd like to either show the user's ship address or not show this page. Ideas?

The confirmation page is needed by VM to confirm the order.

The shipping address and shipping rate is purposely shown blank when there are only digital orders so that the purchaser knows that it is a digital download not physical and that they are not being charged shipping!

You would need to alter the function final_info in ps_checkout.php to check for blank information and not output the fields if it is blank

My preference would be to show the real shipping address. I'd need to display the state and zip code at the very least, to charge Sales Tax for in-state sales, after noticing the tax dropped off in the process. Jon

It doesn't alter tax! Only shipping costs.

The user id I was testing with has my home state, and I saw $0 tax. Let me experiment some more and try isolating the use case better. It could be the VM cookie went stale and I only THOUGHT the user id had a current VM shipping address...

When a user registers, it is the registered address that is used. The shipping address page is normally for alternative shipping addresses

I don't have Community Builder on my site, so the registration containing the Address is entirely within VirtueMart. Seems a person can sign into the site, and VM can "forget" that person's shipping address and I've not figure out why. I was figuring it was attached through a session cookie somehow. Maybe CB would be a smart move, eh?
