My first post.

I thought I should mention that I downloaded your shipping bypass component (child version) today and as a consequence my cart Thank you page disappeared.

I the Thank you page over the weekend with the VM fix released on 20th. (I think it was).

BTW, I downloaded your child list component - v. good thanks. I shall donate!!

Thank you for pointing that out.

I have placed a replacement checkout.thankyou.php file in the downloads section here Downloads. This should only make a difference if you have more than 1 payment module published.

Just overwrite the old one. I have retested and it works fine.

I'll try that a bit later - I've got the fix running again at the moment.

To be honest, I was only trying the shipping bypass component in an effort to get (somewhat erratic!) shipping working in my VM setup. If I see 'Please select a shipping method!' once more, I'll probably do something I'll regret!

I only have one shipping module published - Standard Shipping Module.

Change your checkout style in the main vm configuration.

Click the checkout tab and choose process 2 or 4. Neither of which will ask for shipping Method.

Yes, I've tried that and the cart works fine, but then the shipping (p&p) doesn't get added at all...

I've got it running in debug at the moment - the error generated is:

Debug: The Shipping Module 'standard_shipping' couldn't
find a Shipping Rate that matches the current Checkout configuration:
Weight: 5
Country: GBR
ZIP: NN9 6DL

Strange, I don't have a weight = 5 listed in the table. I just Navicat'd in to look.

From other posts on in the VM forum, this looks like a common problem for loads of people.

I think I know what's happening with the VM shipping.

If you checkout a single product in the cart - it works fine, no problem at all.

However, if you have say two items in your cart and say one has a shipping weight of 1.0kg and the other say 1.75kg...

What appears to be happening is that the cart ADDS the two weights together and effectively makes up a new shipping weight of 2.75kg - for which there is no shipping rate listed. So, an error is returned saying - I don't have that weight/shipping rate listed, can't proceed.

I've just made up a new shipping rate of 2.75 and added it - now the cart works fine on a cart order which wouldn't work.

As a work around, it looks as if I'll have to make up combinations of shipping rates to cover - fortunately, I've only got 5 rates!

I don't have much to do with the shipping side of things.

But, shipping can be defined by weight ranges. e.g. 1 to 2 Kg, 2 to 4Kg etc.

Surely you must be able to define shipping rates based on min and max weight. i.e. You would not set a rate of min 2.75Kg max 2.75Kg but min 1Kg max 2.75Kg which would then cover the two weights in one hit.

I have all the weight ranges covered - 0.10kg-1.00kg, 1.10kg-1.50kg etc. etc. Tried it every which way, but still the same result:
