Extended Mini Cart
This is a replacement for VirtueMarts Mini Cart. This is more configurable and will actually display the items that are in the cart. For a demonstration just go to the store and add anything to the cart. You will see the results immidiately.

Installation

(*Remember to back up your files and DB before installation)

If you have already installed the default VirtueMart mini cart, uninstall it first.

Unpack the files and install the mod_virtuemart_cart.zip as a normal Joomla module. Then copy the file shop.basket_short.php to your-site/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/html and select yes when asked to overwrite.

Configuration

In the Joomla administration assign the module to an appropriate module position (Standard Joomla stuff).

Then fill in the parameters as necessary
